Making a break for the closet- probably hoping for a shirt. This thing is so full that she can actually crawl in it without it tripping her up- and you can’t even see her bootie, there’s so many ruffles.

Now there’s need for a shirt AND some pants! Good thing her brother knows how to open closet doors.

Uh- oh. Shirts and shorts are in the dressers, not Gwen’s closet! (Note the THREE GARBAGE BAGS FULL of outgrown clothes from Aunt Kelly and Sophie- and there’s more!!!) And yes, Gabe has been in underpants for several months now- I haven’t bragged about that yet!

And here’s a little peasant dress I made from Portabello Pixie’s Claire pattern a while back. Finally got around to photographing it! The pettiskirt actually looks really fun under it- it makes it poof out and the pink ruffles peak out of the bottom! I’ll have to get a shot of that one day!

The painted egg Easter tradition. Gabe’s 2010 edition- he does not make a boring egg.

Lynx barged in on our little portrait session. Gabe is so good with these dogs these days. I’m so thankful that he grew out of that stage where throwing things at the dogs was such a blast!!!

What goes on in that mind? Oh, what I’d pay to get a glimpse into that head sometimes.

The power went out. The bad weather had long since passed. Unfortunately, not extremely unusual on Progress Energy (and they want rate hikes again- ugh).
But, at least it was a good day for it- as long as we stayed near a window, the breeze kept us comfortable. Gabe and I played with part of his massive collection of Matchbox cars on one side of the room, while Gwen and their dad played on the floor by the sliding glass doors.

… my subdomain to “afewtimesamonth.blazeman.com”. Then, I’d feel really good about accomplishing a post here and there.

I made this t-shirt. It’s pretty bad. Like, I won’t let him leave the house in it bad. But, he asks to wear it, and does. It almost makes up for the fact that he turns up his nose at the adorable, soft, cozy pajama pants I made him. Almost.

A very popular phrase around here, is “He is SUCH A TODDLER!!!” What we mean, is, he is such a bratty teenager. Oh, the attitude. He is testing his world- it is absolutely amazing watching him figure things out. And often… very, very, VERY frustrating. I hear three is worse than two. Eek!

And oh, I know that she’ll get there one day. But, for now, Gwen is just a ball of sunshine. She seriously smiles more than should be humanly possible- she giggles just because I’m giggling. Just happiness embodied.

She sits up SO well! She loves it when we help her stand, loves to bounce, rolls over both ways whenever she wants to, and is trying very hard to get some forward motion when she’s on her belly. It’s hard to believe she’ll be chasing her brother soon!

And oh, yes- she is really working on hair, too. Thank you, Gwen’s head.

Lots more pictures coming up soon.

We three had nasty colds this past week, so… at least they had a good excuse. :-p
Here’s some pics of Gabe NOT smiling:

And here’s some pics of Gwen NOT smiling:

Thank goodness we kept the snot and germs to ourselves, and Dad stayed healthy. Colds are no fun. Having toddlers and babies with colds, really really sucks. Having toddlers and babies with colds while having a cold yourself and being unable to take anything for it- absolutely blows. Thank goodness we’ve made it past THAT.
P.S. Thank you, Aunt Sue- Gwen has been wearing this little outfit for quite a while, and I’ve been trying to remember to get a picture of her in it forEVER. I finally managed to capture a little proof that our she wears the adorable things you send.

It’s a warm FL winter again (thank goodness- I am really not built for the cold stuff!) so we spent a little time on the back patio wearing down some sidewalk chalk. My son did a remarkable job at staying pretty clean this time, but, was shocked to discover the bottom of his shoes were covered in colorful chalk dust.

We managed to get it on him once, for 30 seconds, just long enough to make sure it fit. Tried to get him to put it on for pictures. Noooooooo, no, spider jacket.
Apparently it will be a costume-less Halloween for the kiddo. What a difference a year makes- he was such a happy turtle last year.

But, I didn’t give in before snapping a *few* pics of the tantrum that ensued when I had the nerve to ask him to put the top on. Good thing he has his lovey- the ball. I love you, you strange little creature.
