I should tell you that I’m even worse when I have a toddler who is going through a sleep fighting stage battle- I am worn down. The whole “it takes a village” thing is true if for only one reason- parents need a BREAK sometimes. Anyone have a village we could borrow?

Anyway, I’m slogging through the pictures I’ve taken over the past couple months- and sometimes last month I finally photographed a bunch of things I’d made. This goes back quite a ways, though- and my brain is on strike- so, don’t expect many details.

Little kimono top from a really good tutorial.

Another little dress from Sandi Henderson’s Claire pattern- one of my favorites for little girls.

This was a quick little peasant dress from a- maybe Simplicity?- pattern.

Minky and ruffly diaper covers- really quick projects, especially wish a serger (instead of making casings, just serge the elastic to the waist and legs, fold over and stitch in place).

This one is pretty recent- Sienna pattern form LilBlueBoo. REALLY quick project- made from an old skirt and an old tank top. Took about an hour from start to finish. I’ve made a few more that haven’t been photographed yet and have a bunch more to make- they’re so cute and comfy for her!

This is months old- not even sure it fits her anymore! But, a really quick project and I love that it’s completely reversible.

A little sweater that’s not quite finished, but, maybe as finished as it ever will be. It was my first time dying wool- and I loved it!

And finally, some recently dyed yarn- I love how it looks together and can’t wait to see how it knits up!

Phew.

This little dress has been sitting and sitting and waiting around. I finished the top ages ago, and “finished” the skirt back in November, I think. It was horrible, though- I had no idea what I was doing! I ripped it off, serged off all the clunky seams and hem, and started over. It took all of 30 minutes to do the sewing this time, and that includes gathering and ironing and serging.

I still have to attach buttons for the straps, though! It’s a cool design- meant to fit over the course of two summers, by switching the straps from criss-crossed to straight. I think it will fit in time for spring, though!

It’s a free pattern by Natalie Larson- Two Summer Dress, for Ravelry users. Knitting AND sewing! It’s quick, it’s cute, it’s perfect- I want to make a bunch more!

This scarf was my first flat project, and I can see where it confused me if I look carefully at the slip-stitch edges. It languished for a few months, so close to being complete, just waiting for the loose ends to be woven in- one of my absolute least favorite tasks. But, even that was done almost a year ago- it’s just been waiting to be photographed. So, here it is, mistakes and neglect and all- just looking at it makes me feel a bit cozier.

It’s hard to believe that Gwen will be here in a matter of days! We’ve been very busy working on her nursery and getting things ready for her. Here’s a few fun little details- not sure we’ll have pics of the nursery until she’s in it, but, we’re getting really close to the finish line!

I made a little “clothes line” for easy display of snapshots, art, cards, stuff like that. It was fun- and super easy.

I painted four of these guys, attached ribbon to their backs and hung them on the wall. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE 3M Command Picture removable hanging strips? Use ‘em. Doesn’t get any easier!

I picked up some mini-clothespins at the craft store and Mod-Podged scrap paper to their fronts, to make them a little cuter.

They hold things on the line…

… and work great for other things around the nursery, like keeping little hats attached to their matching outfits.

A few of the bunches of knitting and crochet things I’ve finished in the last couple weeks- a little blue crocheted pinafore:

And a tiny little pixie hat from Baby Beanies: Happy Hats to Knit for Little Heads
:

Finally, Gwen’s adorable big brother. He helped me make chocolate cupcakes- and of course, he helped me eat them, too!

. It’s really common for knitting and crochet pattern books to be chock full of errors, and so far into this one, I’ve got nothing.

Anyway, more things for Gwen.

I got to make a tutu for my own child- and decided on lavender and silver. This thing is fluffy, sparkley, and so soft! I made it the same way I made Sophie’s, but, tied the ends (which took longer than all the rest of the steps together- ugh- but, I love it).

Finished another quick hat- how cute is this thing? I can’t say it enough- LOVE the patterns in Itty-Bitty Hats: cute and cuddly caps to knit for babies and toddlers
.

And here’s a blanket I knitted up for her- so soft and cuddly. This pattern is in Weekend Knitting

A few days ago, I had my first dose of a pregnancy woe that I’d all but forgotten about- carpal tunnel syndrome! OUCH! I had it with Gabe, and it hurt so much it would wake me up at night. And I had a horrifying thought- what if I couldn’t finish all the projects I wanted to finish before Gwen gets here?

So, while I hope it was just a one time thing for this pregnancy, I’m going to go with the idea that it may not be- and knit my head off.

A few of things I’ve started and finished this week- there’s also a really cute sweater with only an arm to go, a blanket that needs a few ends woven in (I hate weaving in ends), another bib that just needs a good button, and a few more things still hanging out on the needles.

A cute little bib out of $0.97 a skein kitchen cotton:

Bunny Ears- sized for next spring. This is Crayon Boucle, a cotton from Knitpicks- very soft and easier on the hands than most cotton yarns.

And another bib- a cool asymmetrical cabled pattern (again, out of cheap-o kitchen cotton).
