I finished an adorable skirt for my niece, Sophie today. Unfortunately, it was pretty dark by the time it was done, so not a day for cute pics, but, oh well.
I got the FANTASTIC tutorial here. I may try to whip up a pocket for this one before I gift it- I’m not sure if that would just be downright cocky, though, since I’m riding on my high for finishing a wearable piece, and not screwing up at ALL! Technically, I made this skirt twice. I came very close to finishing the first one. I was trimming a bit of loose strings for the bottom hem and dammitall. I sliced right through the waist. RIGHT THROUGH it. SO close to angry tears.
But, this one is actually much better, and now that I have the experience under my belt, I feel confident enough to play with the sizing and make one for MY baby girl, for this spring.
I can sew. It still makes me giddy. I never thought that would be a skill I could call my own.
